Where I come from...

I have studied and worked across multiple fields (tourism, languages, translation, teaching, sales, online training, and business). This diversity has allowed me to collaborate with people from different sectors, levels, and cultures.What defines my journey most is having learned to constantly step out of my comfort zone, push boundaries, and support others in doing the same. I am Canadian and Salvadoran, but I chose Spain as my home years ago, and it is where I have lived the longest. This decision is also part of who I am: someone who builds her path with intention.

I strongly believe that learning a language is not about memorising, but about acquiring the tools to make decisions, express yourself, and connect. I also understand translation as a process of adapting meaning, beyond words.My goal is to empower people to feel confident, capable, and in control when communicating in another language.

Without a doubt, people. Being able to connect, collaborate, and support growth processes.I also deeply enjoy being involved in every part of the process: thinking, creating, structuring, communicating, learning, and making things happen. For me, it is not just work—it is continuous building.

Tatiana Eman

Where I come from...

I studied Political Science, only to later discover my true passion for languages and other cultures. Perhaps I chose the wrong path at first, but in the end I realised that languages, communication, teaching, and learning were what truly resonated with me. That’s why I decided to pursue studies in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching.Since then, I have felt like “Alice in Wonderland”: a world that is both fascinating and inexplicable, full of daily enigmas to unravel alongside my students.I was born in a country that no longer exists, which is why I consider myself a citizen of this Wonderland. I have lived in five different countries, but I believe the magical portal is in Madrid.

I use board games to teach vocabulary, and I turn grammar into something connected to real life. I “cook magical potions” by blending different elements from existing methods to help heal fears and insecurities when speaking in public, in meetings, or in interviews—whether in corporate settings or in any other professional or social context.

Being useful to people who want to grow in every sense. Continuing to learn across all areas in order to expand my own horizons of knowledge. Everything else no longer matters.

Daniel Miguelañez

Where I come from...

Daniel doesn’t like talking about himself, so I’ll try to help a little so you can get an idea of who he is.I would say he comes from a lifetime of ambition—though not in an obvious way: ambition to improve, to do things well, to become the person he wants to be—a good friend, a good family member, an exceptional teacher and translator. His experience is broad across many fields, and you can see it in the way he applies himself to every task he takes on.

He has taught—and continues to teach—in both the private and public sectors, at all levels, in corporate settings, and with learners of all ages, in the United States and Spain. In his eyes, every person and every group deserves the same level of commitment and effort.He currently teaches English at a secondary school and works as a lecturer in Translation and British Culture at the University of Alcalá de Henares, in addition to his work as a professional translator.He studied in Madrid, Edinburgh, and Boston. He holds a degree in English Studies and in Modern Languages and Translation, as well as a Master’s in Literary Studies and another in Teacher Training.His depth of knowledge and understanding of the English language is remarkable. His command of punctuation, grammar, vocabulary, and literature in both languages is highly developed and consistently evident in his work.

It would probably be difficult for Dani to focus on just one thing, as he seems genuinely engaged in every aspect of his professional life: research (he is a member of national and international university research groups), lesson preparation, working with people he can support in their academic or professional development, teaching itself, and even the most complex translation work.All of this is not only evident when working with him, but also reflected in the feedback from his students, former colleagues, and his professors. I believe he does what he loves—and he does it well.

Raquel Pol

Where I come from...

My passion began in 2000, when after completing a degree in Spanish Philology in León, I moved to Barcelona. There, I started teaching students from all over the world while also learning English and Catalan. Later, I moved to Scotland and then to England, working across universities, colleges, and a variety of language academies.In 2007, I also began teaching online and providing tutoring for both English and Spanish students.  My goal is clear: to help you speak authentic Spanish, with confidence and without fear. Throughout my career, I have worked with all kinds of learners, from complete beginners to advanced levels, in academies, private lessons, and online training. This has allowed me to fully understand what each student needs, and how to adapt to their pace and goals.

My classes are not the typical boring lessons filled with endless grammar. They are dynamic, practical, and participative from the very first minute. Here, you learn by speaking, making mistakes, and improving in a supportive and motivating environment. I work with real-life situations, personalised materials, and a communication-centred methodology, because I firmly believe that a language is not memorised—it is lived and used. My classes are flexible, comfortable, and adapted to your schedule, using digital tools that make learning more agile and interactive. We can work on conversation, applied grammar, exam preparation, or Spanish for professional purposes, always with a practical and effective approach, combined with a human and personal touch. What sets me apart is the combination of experience, energy, and closeness. I don’t just teach Spanish—I accompany my students on their learning journey, helping them gain confidence and enjoy the language. My students don’t only improve their level; they lose their fear of speaking and start to feel truly comfortable using the new language.

I love being in contact with my students and witnessing their learning process. Each person is a world in themselves, and through them we learn about their interests, their needs, and their way of learning. I am a lifelong language learner, and I can see how I have evolved over the years and how each language has given me a new life. Putting a language into practice is one of the great pleasures in life. And what I enjoy most of all is the time we spend in class. I truly love my work.

Eduardo Alegre

Where I come from...

I am from Madrid, and I deeply love everything Spain has to offer. I studied Philology, and I have a strong interest in language and literature. I have also studied image. I am passionate about cinema and photography, as well as reading and writing.I have developed my professional experience mainly in the fields of advertising, writing, and teaching Spanish as a foreign language, which I have been dedicated to professionally for the past twenty years.The opportunity to share knowledge with people who need it is deeply rewarding, and seeing them acquire that knowledge and integrate it into their lives is a privilege. Interacting daily with people from different nationalities has broadened my world and made me a better person.I understand language as much more than a way of expressing ourselves: it is our essential tool for putting ourselves in others’ place. It is culture, it is history… and it is something I am deeply passionate about.

I teach Spanish to people who, for different reasons, want to study it. I offer my students a space in which they can learn, adapted to their needs and availability.Taking into account each person’s individual characteristics is, in my view, what allows a fruitful teacher–student connection to be created. I pay attention to each student’s interests and preferences, as there is no better way to learn to speak than by talking about what we like and care about.I bring all my cultural and life experience into my classes, along with a pair of very open ears. In these automated, packaged, and ultra-processed times, I believe more than ever in human intelligence.

I have many interests, such as music (I play in a band in my free time), reading and creative writing (I have served as a jury member in several literary competitions), the mountains, mountaineering and climbing, photography, and cinema. I am passionate about learning, and that is the driving force in my life. I believe all of this is reflected in my work teaching Spanish. I don’t stay only in theory—language is life, and I transmit it as such. I greatly enjoy listening to my students and seeing how they achieve their goals. To communicate, to transmit, to share, to listen, to enjoy, to learn—that is, for me, what teaching is all about.
